There’s a lot to say about the Schwinn 460 Elliptical Trainer. The Schwinn 460 Elliptical Trainer is an adjustable stride elliptical trainer. The adjustable stride design has been gaining popularity and a lot of the big players in the fitness equipment industry have been adding an adjustable stride elliptical to their lineup. When the adjustable stride elliptical trainer first debuted it was more of a gimmick than anything else. Oftentimes, the extra mechanics required to give an elliptical trainer an adjustable were defective. We’ve come along way since then and now there are finally some decent and in many cases excellent elliptical trainers with adjustable stride length. Let’s take an in-depth look at the Schwinn 460 Elliptical Trainer and discover if it is worth buying or passing over.

Many adjustable stride elliptical trainers have an adjustable stride from 16 to 22 inches. The Schwinn 460 Elliptical Trainer smashes this range with a 2 inch to 26 inch stride length. Longer stride length mimic runners to take long strides with every step and shorter stride length mimic a walking motion. Have you checked out the Amazon.com video you’ll have a good idea of how the adjustable stride works. I would like to note this, I personally would not get any use out of be supershort to in stride length. I kind of feel like I’m trying to run with my ankles cuffed together. Maybe somebody else out there would find a use for that, probably someone trying to escape from prison, but I wouldn’t. That’s not to say that the adjustable stride length isn’t useful especially for someone buying and elliptical trainer for several people who may be tall and short. I suppose I’m just saying that the stride length range is so wide that beyond a certain point it offers little to no extra value for most users.

As far as features go you get 16 fitness programs to help you reach whatever goal it is you’re trying to reach. I can’t stress this enough, fitness programs are there for a reason and if you are new cardio training they will help you get in shape! They will help you set and reach goals. They will help you lose weight. The Schwinn 460 Elliptical Trainer has something else that a lot of elliptical trainers do not have, results tracking. As many as two people can track stats like average calories burned per hour.

Like just about every piece of fitness equipment that comes from Schwinn I do have one gripe with the Schwinn 460 Elliptical Trainer. The Schwinn 460 Elliptical Trainer is covered by 90 day labor warranty. In my mind, that’s just way too short. Elliptical trainer really should have a one-year parts and labor warranty, especially if it selling for about $1000. So, for a very short warranty and going to have to deduct some major points from the Schwinn 460 Elliptical Trainer’s score.

If you want something and elliptical trainer that’s a little more traditional I highly recommend just about everything from Sole Fitness
